Palestinian Refugees
I have worked for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) for over three decades. During that period I have written and edited several books, as well as authored articles on the legal and other aspects of Palestinian refugees. I am keen to share my expertise on these issues as well as on the wider Israeli-Palestinian and Arab-Israeli conflicts through further writings, teaching, guest-lecturing and consulting.
Palestine at the UN: The PLO and UNRWA in the 1970s
The latest issue of Journal of Palestine Studies (from the Institute for Palestine Studies) includes Anne Irfan's new article on the historical relationship between UNRWA and the PLO. The article examines the relationship of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) during the 1970s, the period when the PLO reached the zenith of its power in Palestinian refugee camps throughout the Levant.

The Question of Palestine 70 Year On: Priorities for Action
In late 2018, Jordanian legal aid and social justice NGO, Arab Renaissance for Democracy & Development (ARDD), launched a new programme, initially for three years, to explore issues related to the unresolved Israel-Palestinian conflict through expert meetings, development and dissemination of policy briefs, as well as stakeholder consultations and coordination. Concurrently, as an integral part of the Programme, ARDD also launched a Global Network of Experts on the Question of Palestine.
